Back in March I had the opportunity, thanks to my mate James, to pick up a pile of 18th century figures from Foundry at a reasonable price. They are slowly making their way off the painting desk and being mustered into service.
I was pleased that the sale included these 12 Pandours to give my Russian army some scouting and skirmishing potential. Here they are complete with their cute little boots. With two musicians, they probably won't be able to sneak up on their foes, but at least they'll be entertained.
Scouting the woods for pesky Croats and Friekorps, or perhaps a delicious wild boar.
Cheers and thanks for looking.
Blessings to your brushes,
MP+

Very nice work, Michael! They do look a bit piratical.
ReplyDeleteThey really are! I love how even the musicians have a pistol tucked in their waistbands. And the officer with the sword has a Captain Blood air about him.
DeleteHow did i facilitate you getting these?
ReplyDeleteBut they look fabulous and I'm sure your Russians will appreciate the expanded capabilities.
You hooked me up with that fellow who was going to unload all those 18thC figures at the Hot Lead bring and buy. I scored quite a few figures thanks to your acting as broker.
DeleteDid I? Well done me!
DeleteA very fine set of ruffians, Michael, just the type of chaps to set about them there Prussians, yes?
ReplyDeleteIf they're anything like Baron von der Trenck's mob of rowdies (Austrian service, Wars of Austrian Succession), the Prussians are in for some exciting times!
Cheers,
Ion
Thank you Ion. It's really hard to decide which of the two Trenck brothers was the more interesting. I do feel for the Prussian brother, who died on the guillotine just a few days before Robespierre!
DeleteNice brushwork Mike. They look fab!
ReplyDeleteVery kind Ray. Yes, they look fab, but can they fight? :)
