I like the darker shade of blue in the jackets as well. I managed something similar by accident on some of my Airfix Union artillerymen, and I liked the look of them, too. Incidentally, if you do Confederates, I recommend an equally dark - almost a navy - blue on the saltire of the Beauregard designed battleflag. It just looks better somehow, possibly because it makes the argent fimbriation stand out more.
Cheers,
IonArchduke Piccolohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15533325665451889661noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6519665561624985779.post-30261711683507419952014-09-09T13:18:35.081-07:002014-09-09T13:18:35.081-07:00I have done that before. The blue is a craft paint, Folkart Indigo, given a wash of a Citadel product once called (I think) Asuren Blue, and then highlights of Indigo mixed with white on the folds and raised bits. When I was reenacting I saw a huge variety of Union Blue coats and jackets, but I like this darker shade.Mad Padrehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00410143683610813671noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6519665561624985779.post-5867613829957478742014-09-09T13:09:49.732-07:002014-09-09T13:09:49.732-07:00Thanks Chris.
