"Dilatoriness" is a strong word to use about poor General Moore, but I think you'll see in today's post that he is trying to make up for it. If I meed more names, I will surely go to you.

Scott and Peter, thanks for the comments about the ships. They were fun to do and I need to bear down now and finish their US counterparts. Peter, glad you liked the map, I imagined/sketched that years ago while visiting Mrs. Padre's family in Hattiesburg, MS. Many of the place names are real Mississippi towns.Mad Padrehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00410143683610813671noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6519665561624985779.post-22322934887414248272012-09-16T07:23:31.810-07:002012-09-16T07:23:31.810-07:00Enjoying your campaign. My mind must be going. Well: I've checked back, and I like it already: an interesting account of the early days of the campaign. This sort of thing can be quite atmospheric, as word arrives of the enemy stirring, the first enemy probes met and successfully held at one place, unclear at the other, not enough yet happening for a clear picture to emerge.

I hope the pace picks up a bit, but if Major-Genl Halleck decides that Genl Moore's dilatoriness might be better substituted by the headlong approach of Maj-Genl Titus E. Canby; of if Pres. Davis or P.G.T Beauregard think that Maj-Genl Jubilation Ticonderoga Bootlegg might be luckier... But let's hope in doesn't come to that...
Cheers,
Ion Archduke Piccolohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15533325665451889661noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6519665561624985779.post-21829676409517478452012-09-16T02:26:36.668-07:002012-09-16T02:26:36.668-07:00Have to agree, great stuff!Have to agree, great stuff!Montyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06230149195753516430noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6519665561624985779.post-64629127770217321212012-09-15T22:26:17.899-07:002012-09-15T22:26:17.899-07:00An excellent read on a Sunday morning! An excellent read on a Sunday morning! The Angry Lurkerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01227314379603418332noreply@blogger.com
