I am sure Napoleon's Swiss troops in their red uniforms get the same sort of love. I'm currently reading Marshall MacDonald's memoirs of being betrayed by the Prussians in Poland during the 1812 campaign, and fighting his way back to safety with a mixed force that included Bavarians. I started doing Bavarians for the Franco Prussian War but like Tradgardmastere above, it fizzled out. I have not painted Napoleonics for quite some time, the last I did were Portuguese - I need to get back to them as I need two or three battalions of Cacadores to round of the force I was creating!rrosshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07316317334203888350noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6519665561624985779.post-42970550491166899732021-05-13T23:26:29.469-07:002021-05-13T23:26:29.469-07:00I have always had a soft spot for Napoleonic Bavar...I have always had a soft spot for Napoleonic Bavarians due to their uniforms and especially the lovely illustrations in the Osprey book which are so charming. I also found Bavarians fascinating as they could fight Andreas Hofner in the Tyrol and go off to Russia too, if I recall rightly. I had some 25mm Minifigs of them in the seventies but it cam3 to naught. Interestingly I have 70mm 1914 Bavarians on the painting deslk currently as a little painting therapy.tradgardmastarehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13116967655904601740noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6519665561624985779.post-46099226684774697342021-05-13T19:49:46.584-07:002021-05-13T19:49:46.584-07:00"The Napoleonic Sourcebook" is an incred..."The Napoleonic Sourcebook" is an incredible piece of work and a asset to any library. There's also on on the ACW which is great although a bit less informative in my opinion.
