It was rather eerie - the little touches of colour Curt has left on the leader figures, like the red and white of the Glengarry cap of the Highland sergeant - are very effective in making the figures a little ghostly. The photos of each of the games look great, Mike. I particularly enjoyed he description of the Great War game, and the way in which Sylvain allowed the Belgian dogs to "frolic in the adjacent leash free park" - a great image (and one requiring a new casting of a Belgian dog performing their usual functions in any public park, perhaps? :) ).

I really like the Savo Island cross-over. Switching the sides is a good idea as the actions around "The Slot" were tough - great idea to refresh them and bring them to life with a transfer to the Med.

Great stuff and a classic post!Sidney Roundwoodhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14795563060856586670noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6519665561624985779.post-67236264673621743892013-04-11T01:00:46.885-07:002013-04-11T01:00:46.885-07:00What a fabulous report and weekend's gaming; w...What a fabulous report and weekend's gaming; worth the journey surely, but the less said about the Great Moose Butt, the better. Truth be t...That is a great weekend report, Mike!

Truth be told the Great War scenario was one I used recently with the fellows from Winnipeg (I'm a great proponent of recycling).

http://analogue-hobbies.blogspot.ca/2013/03/guest-post-from-greg-aar-28mm-wwi-in.html

It was telling that the results of the action were pretty much the same between both games - lots of mud and blood which seems suitable to the genre.

John's game was a real treat (even though he was showing a disturbing amount of unsteadiness under fire ;P ) and, as you say, it is very rare when you can take part in a game where all the figures are the creation of one man, from start to finish. Bravo John!

The General Quarters game was also a lot of fun and I again applaud your excellent torpedo run in the narrows. It sent me off like a scolded hound! Another great naval game shepherded by Peter.

Sarah and I look forward to having you join us again Mike.
